We went Peach Pickin'
We took a 4 hour road trip to pick some Texas peaches! ….and it was totally worth it.
Our friends share the same love for photography the Time Traveler and I do. Therefore, it’s only natural that we had been wanting to plan a road trip to a nearby destination for some content creation.
Since Danny is quite literally OBSESSED with peaches, we picked the Jenschke Orchards as our place to visit.
The experience that the Jenschke farm gives you is quite nice. You start by going inside their shop and getting a quick rundown on how the peach picking will go. Soon after that, you hop on a tractor to make your way down to the orchards.
Once you’re dropped off to the designated area, you then start to collect the peaches you want to take home.
Some sampling may have taken place.
We posed for some pictures, and made an album cover (< that’s a cheesy joke, we just took a really cool photo). We even met a really rad couple that let me take their photo! Y’all know I can’t pass up an opportunity to photograph a pretty couple!
After about an hour and a half in the scorching sun (it was all we could stand), we grabbed our boxes full of peaches and waited for the tractor that would take us back to the store for purchasing.
Once we hopped on the tractor, we were viciously chased away by a mean ol’ doggo. (Check out the slides below for the photo) We barely made it out alive!
After paying for our peaches, we decided we were hungry and wanted to eat at the famous Oasis Tex-Mex restaurant in Austin, Tx!
We’ve been to Austin so many times, and we always tried to make the trip to The Oasis, but we spend too much time kayaking and swimming that we had never made the time to go, but OH BOY! We were missing out!!
Thankfully Lily knows what’s good and made us all go! I always thought it was just a restaurant but there is so much more! There’s quaint little shops, and ice cream parlors, and cowboy wear, it’s amazing!!
Needless to say, the views were all that and a bag of chips.
We finally sat down for some good food and even better company.
That tiny day trip ended with a change of tire, but don’t ask us about that. Nothing could ruin that day.
